Advocacy
Effective December 9, 2024, and for the first time in history, Florida credit unions are officially able to apply to take public deposits. This monumental win comes after years of credit union advocacy and opens up billions of dollars in public funds for credit unions.
Compliance
On January 13, the NCUA updated its 2023 guidance on reporting cyber incidents. Federally insured credit unions can report incidents by submitting the Cyber Incident Credit Union Reporting System form on the Cybersecurity Resources page at NCUA.gov, calling 1-833-CYBERCU (1-833-292-3728) and leaving a voicemail, or sending a secure email via the NCUA Secure Email Message Center. Credit unions are encouraged to remain vigilant and continuously strengthen their cybersecurity defenses.
Foundation
The Foundation invites affiliated credit unions to apply for the Disaster Preparedness RecoveryPro Grant Program by the extended deadline of January 15, 2025. This program provides access to the RecoveryPro platform and includes a three-day training workshop to help credit unions develop and sustain effective business continuity plans.
