Project Zip Code

One of the most powerful tools in our advocacy tool belt is the number of members we represent across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia. Credit unions in The League’s footprint collectively serve 31 million members, and those numbers go a long way when advocating for credit union issues.

One the best ways to show our strength in numbers is Project Zip Code (PZC). This secure and confidential program counts your credit union’s members and matches them by Congressional district, state legislative district, and county. These numbers are securely uploaded to the PZC website and combined with data from credit unions nationwide. This data aids in our advocacy efforts in each state capital and Washington D.C. by allowing us to show lawmakers exactly how many people would be affected by proposed legislation.

Please take a few minutes to run PZC at your credit union. You can download the program to your desktop by visiting http://www.pzconline.com/install/ and clicking on “Download Project Zip Code.”

If you have any questions, please contact Josie Ellis or Ibby Dickson.

Member Activation Program

Member Activation Program (MAP) gets your members engaged in credit union advocacy. We provide plug-and-play content that you can deliver to members, and your members discover ways to play a role in the future of their credit union. Learn how engaging your credit union’s members with advocacy communications can strengthen and grow your members’ loyalty.

For first-time members: The first step to getting started with MAP is to join the MAP Community. The MAP Community is a space for credit union advocacy professionals to connect with peers, ask questions, solve problems, get the latest information, and build knowledge. All the latest campaign templates and resources are housed there. If you have any specific questions about MAP, please reach out to Andy Dennis.

Engage with Advocacy

Our Advocacy team regularly hosts PAC and Grassroots trainings across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia with credit unions interested in learning more about our efforts and how they can get involved. These trainings focus on fundamental ways credit unions can engage elected officials at every level using tried and true grassroots tactics.

If you or anyone at your credit union would be interested in hosting a training, please complete our form, and a League team member will reach out to determine what kind of training is most appropriate for your team.

Key Contacts provide vital and timely lines of communication with specific elected officials at the local, state, or national level. Key Contacts often also have critical relationships with those who serve as staff to elected officials. If you or someone at your credit union holds one of these relationships, The League wants to know! These types of contacts provide credit unions crucial insight and assistance when issues arise and help strengthen our ties to our elected officials.

If you or anyone you know has established a key relationship with an elected official, please complete our confidential form and a League staff member will reach out for further information.
